  • What do I need to start a policy?

    In order to easily get a quote and set up your policy, it is helpful if you have a current copy of your Declaration Page. This ensures that we are quoting the same coverages that you have now. To start your policy, we would ask for your address, phone number, social security number, driver’s license/permit numbers, vehicle identification numbers, and, if your vehicle is financed, your lien holder information.

  • Will I be able to get my ID cards right away?

    Yes. We mail you ID cards right away, and you should receive them by U.S. Mail soon after purchasing your policy. If you need them sooner, you can access all of your auto insurance policy documents, including your ID cards, anytime when you login to your policy online.

  • What payment plans and payment options are available?

    Teachers.com® offers a variety of payment plans including Annual, Semi-Annual, Quarterly and Monthly that can be paid in installments, as well as payroll deduction in some cases With our Preferred Payer Discount™, the more you pay up-front on your Teachers.com Insurance auto policy, the more we put back in your pocket. You can make payments by mail with a check, or online or over the phone using your checking or savings account, or a debit or credit card. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.

  • Can I change my payment date?

    Teachers.com® does allow you to choose the day of the month your monthly payments are due by contacting Customer Service. However, you are not able to change your due date from month-to-month and we need at least five (5) business days to complete changes to your payment plan.

  • How do I cancel my old insurance policy?

    In order to cancel your old insurance policy, you should notify your current insurer and they should refund any over payment you have made. In order to show your prior carrier that you have new coverage in place, we can fax or email proof of coverage at your request.

  • How do I make sure I get important emails?

    Your Internet provider or email manager may be sending our emails to your SPAM (or "junk") box. There are several things you can do to ensure you receive important emails from us:

    • Add us to your address book (Sales@teachers-insurance.com, Service@teachers-insurance.com, and Network@teachers-insurance.com).
    • If your provider has a "friends list," or "safe list" or "white list" add our domain (teachers.com) to it.
    • Some email providers allow you to click on a "this is not SPAM" link in the header of an email that has been sent to your SPAM box. Clicking this link will provide directions to ensure that you receive future emails from us.
  • How can I manage my policy online?

    You can manage almost every aspect of your policy online 24/7 when you login to your policy online. There’s no charge for this service and it only takes a minute to register. You can view and print all your policy documents anytime. You can also use our online policy management to:

    • Make payments or sign-up for EasyPay automatic payment service
    • Electronically sign your documents using our E-signature service
    • Change coverage levels
    • Add or delete vehicles
    • Price the premium for a new vehicle before purchasing it
    • View and print your identification cards
    • Change your address
    • Amend your driver profiles
  • How do I change my password?

    To change your password, click on the “Change Password” link under “Personal Settings” after you login to your policy online.

  • What if I forget my password?

    If you forget your password, you can retrieve it by clicking on the "Forgot Your Password?" link that appears near the password field for Policyholder Login.

  • What if I'm a current Teachers Insurance Plan customer?

    Wonderful! Teachers Insurance Plan, along with Teachers.com® is part of the insurance operations of Kemper Corporation, with about $8 billion in assets and an "A-" (Excellent) rating by A.M.
