TEACHER OF THE YEAR (TOTY ) WINNERS FOR THE 2008-2009 SCHOOL YEAR ARE POSTED

 
Each school year, Teachers’ Insurance Plan™ recognizes one teacher in each state* for the contribution he/she has made toward the betterment of his/her school, students or educational community. Teachers’ Insurance Plan awards each winner a $1,000 cash prize. In addition, the school that employs the winning teacher receives $500 to use for school supplies, equipment or enrichment programs. Presentation of awards for the 2009-2010 school year are currently being held. Awards are presented to the winners at their respective schools. *Currently nominations are only being accepted for educators teaching in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Washington. The Teachers' Insurance Plan Selection Committee will select the winner in its sole discretion. Decisions made by the Selection Committee are final. The Award is conditioned upon the winner agreeing to accept the Teacher of the Year Award at a time and place to be determined by Teachers' Insurance Plan and allowing the use of his or her name and image by the Company. Qualified educators must hold a full-time teaching position (kindergarten through graduate school) in a public or private school or university. No purchase is necessary. Nominations are open to all qualified teachers regardless of whether they are a Teachers' Insurance Plan member.
